Six engineering faculty proposals have been recognized by the Office of the Provost with Discovery Grants, one of Vanderbilt’s primary investments to advance discovery in core disciplines and strengthen the university’s overall scholarly profile.

By supporting new ideas, cutting-edge research and infrastructure development, Discovery Grants are designed to serve as a catalyst to significant external funding.

Vanderbilt University’s Dan Roden, MD, internationally known for his contributions to understanding how genetic variation affects drug response, has been named a recipient of the 2018 Louis and Artur Lucian Award for Research in Circulatory Diseases by McGill University in Montreal, Canada.

Todd Giorgio, professor of biomedical engineering, has been selected by the Center of Excellence for Mobile Sensor Data-to-Knowledge (MD2K) to attend a Mobile Health Training Institute at UCLA July 29-Aug. 3.

After successfully leading Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center (VICC) through years of growth in patient volumes and enhanced care options, Michael Neuss, MD, Chief Medical Officer of the VICC Clinical Enterprise, is retiring as CMO.
