Biography

Dr. Tansey is Professor of Cell and Developmental Biology and Biochemistry and Associate Director of Shared Resources for the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. He has dedicated his career to pioneering advancements in understanding cancer mechanisms. His research primarily focuses on understanding dysregulation of gene expression regulation in malignancy, with a focus on cancers driven by the MYC oncogene. His laboratory's innovative approaches to dissecting these processes have not only garnered international acclaim but have also paved the way for potential therapeutic breakthroughs. Dr. Tansey is named inventor in multiple issued patents focused on cancer target identification and treatment.
