Dr. Yiorgos Kostoulas brings a blend of academic insight and global industry experience to Vanderbilt’s innovation ecosystem. A former tech transfer officer at MIT and seasoned product manager in the semiconductor industry, Yiorgos has successfully led the commercialization of advanced optical and measurement technologies, guiding them from lab prototypes to globally adopted solutions.
At Vanderbilt, he directs the Division of Engineering Science and Management and teaches courses at the intersection of entrepreneurship, product development, and technology commercialization. His current Fulbright project in Trinidad and Tobago builds a cross-border innovation bridge, helping train the next generation of technopreneurs and supporting the country’s shift to a knowledge-based economy. With over 30 peer-reviewed publications and a track record in global market development, Yiorgos is a champion of translating research into real-world impact.
