CTTC is the conduit through which companies access technologies that are developed while conducting research and caring for patients at Vanderbilt. We work closely with faculty researchers to evaluate, protect, and license inventions to companies, which they then develop into new products that benefit society.
The Vanderbilt VentureStudio is the place to go for support when planning, launching, and growing your next startup company to commercialize a Vanderbilt innovation.
Support services include business model development and validation, financial modeling, proof of concept testing, company formation and governance, and investor engagement.
Vanderbilt Center for Technology Transfer and Commercialization's mission is to provide professional commercialization services to the Vanderbilt community, thus optimizing the flow of innovation to the marketplace and generating revenue that supports future research activities, while having a positive impact on society.

MAESTRO: Non-Robotic Dexterous Laparoscopic Instrument with a Wrist providing seven degrees of freedom.
A quick demonstration of Maestro, dexterous manual surgical manipulator, developed by researchers at Vanderbilt University. Maestro offers surgeons a dexterous hand which can be used in procedures that would normally require the use of rigid laparoscopic or laparoscopic-type tool. The device has a novel user interface that intuitively maps motion of the surgeon’s hands to the tool’s “hands”.
