An RFP has been set up to accept pre-proposal submissions, which are first reviewed by Vanderbilt CTTC and the Vanderbilt Alliance Manager for the Ancora collaboration, in conjunction with other administrative units, to ensure there are no contractual or other encumbrances related to the research that might prevent eligibility for the collaboration. Pre-proposals are next reviewed by the JOC to assess market feasibility (market size and accessibility, competitive landscape, patient populations, urgent need, pricing, etc.), and technical feasibility (scientific merit, plausibility of development plan, etc.). This review process for pre-proposals typically takes 4-6 weeks, depending on the number received.
The JOC selects projects from among the pre-proposal submission for consideration for full funding, and provides a summary to the Vanderbilt Selection Committee (VSC) for its consideration and concurrence. Projects acceptable to the JOC and the VSC advance to the second stage of the RFP process. Investigators of projects not invited to the second stage will receive a feedback report from the JOC summarizing its assessment of market and technical feasibility, with suggestions for advancement before possible re-submission, if appropriate.
