Elaina Ziehm, M.S.

Elaina joined CTTC in 2025 as an intern supporting the commercialization of biomedical and life science technologies. She is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Neuroscience at Vanderbilt University in the lab of Dr. Ethan Lippmann. Her research focuses on brain health in aging and cerebrovascular disease, using single-cell RNA sequencing and drug delivery approaches to investigate vascular contributions to neurodegeneration and cognitive decline. She also develops and applies translational models of cerebral amyloid angiopathy to study disease mechanisms and therapeutic strategies.

Elaina earned her M.S. in Medical Sciences from Boston University School of Medicine and her B.A. in Neuroscience (Honors) and Chemistry from Vanderbilt University. She brings experience in translational neuroscience, scientific communication, and academic–industry collaboration,
