Chiamaka joined the CTTC as an intern in June 2025. She is currently a PhD candidate in the Microbe-Host Interactions program at Vanderbilt University in the lab of Dr. Timothy Cover. Her research investigates how the bacterium Helicobacter pylori assembles a specialized secretion system to inject a protein into stomach cells to cause cancer. Chiamaka received her B.A. in Biochemistry from Bowdoin College.
