Development of a Bent Stent for Treatment of Trigeminal Neuralgia

This team is developing a minimally invasive endovascular alternative to microvascular decompression for the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia. The approach uses a modified endovascular stent to separate offending blood vessels from the trigeminal nerve root entry zone without requiring open cranial surgery. The follow-on award will support computational modeling, device optimization, and preclinical validation studies.
