Job Description

The Vanderbilt CTTC Marketing and Communications Intern will assist with integrated marketing campaigns from concept to execution to engage and inform the VU and VUMC innovation ecosystem. Interns will report directly to Andrea Valladares, Marketing and Communications Specialist. This internship is for students who are interested in the technology or higher education industry and in gaining exposure to a variety of marketing and communications responsibilities. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain CTTC social media presence across LinkedIn, FB, and X in coordination with the Marketing and Communications Specialist.
  • Design and create graphic content for use on socials, website, and email communications.
  • Craft articles and short form video content related to current events and stories from CTTC and Vanderbilt inventors.
  • Provide updates, insights, and new ideas to the CTTC team. 

Essential Job Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of various social media platforms and best practices
  • Knowledge of AI tools used for marketing and creative purposes
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication that is professional in content and delivery
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively 

Minimum Requirements

  • Pursuing Vanderbilt Graduate Degree
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • Prior relevant internship or work experience
  • Experience with Canva and video editing tools
  • Prior experience with social media management tools such as Hootsuite
