Parker joins the CTTC from the Biomedical Engineering Department, where he is earning his Ph.D. under Dr. Anita Mahadevan-Jansen. His research focuses on the use of optical modalities for surgical guidance and diagnosis. For three years, he also served as a board member at the Center for Social Ventures (formerly the Turner Family Center), where he organized pitch competitions for students and served on investment committees. Before arriving at Vanderbilt, Parker earned bachelor's degrees in mathematics and biomedical engineering from Louisiana Tech University.
