Background
A global biotechnology company is seeking novel approaches for site-specific targeting of therapeutics to joint tissues, particularly cartilage, via systemic delivery. They are especially interested in enhanced delivery of oligonucleotides and biologics.
Approaches of interest:
- Molecular targeting to cartilage, chondrocytes, or endplate
- Delivery of oligonucleotides, biologics, and small-molecule drugs
- Site-specific targeting techniques
- Improved biodistribution profiles for joints
- Sustained/controlled release to extend half-life in joint tissues
Out of scope:
- Intraarticular injection or non-systemic delivery methods
- Approaches with only in vitro or ex vivo data
The company is primarily interested in opportunities with in vivo data (rodent or non-rodent) demonstrating targeting or sustained delivery to cartilage. Various targeting molecules, advanced chemistries, and delivery vehicles are of interest. Collaboration opportunities include funded research collaborations and licensing of assets.
