Temperature as an Indicator of Surgical Site Infection

Mölnlycke, a world leader in wound care and surgical solutions, is seeking innovative products and solutions that utilize temperature as a diagnostic tool for identifying surgical site infections (SSIs). The company is interested in detecting infections across various surgical contexts and tissue types.

 Approaches of interest:

  • Detection or imaging solutions for remote temperature monitoring at surgical sites
  • Computer/AI modeling techniques to identify and assess SSIs from temperature data
  • Approaches to monitor inflammation using temperature with potential SSI detection applications

Out of scope: 

  • Solutions focused on managing temperature, pain, or other SSI symptoms

Developmental stage of interest: 

  • Technologies at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 4 with proof-of-concept data
