Plaque Visualization Technology. Seeking innovative technologies to enhance the detection and visualization of dental plaque, enabling improved diagnostics and consumer oral health solutions.
What we are looking for:
Novel technologies, such as imaging systems, dyes, or sensors, that enable precise, non-invasive visualization of dental plaque to support early detection and effective oral health management in consumer and clinical settings.
Must have Requirements are:
- High sensitivity and specificity for detecting dental plaque on teeth.
- Non-invasive and safe for consumer or clinical use.
- Compatibility with existing dental diagnostic tools or consumer oral health products.
Nice-to-have requirements are:
- Real-time visualization capabilities for immediate feedback.
- Integration with digital platforms for data analysis or consumer engagement.
- Use of biocompatible or natural materials for visualization agents.
- Cost-effective and scalable for widespread adoption.
Out of scope:
- Technologies targeting non-dental applications (e.g., cardiovascular plaque).
- Invasive or surgical diagnostic methods.
- Solutions not suitable for consumer or clinical dental use.
Please note: Faculty and researchers interested in applying for these opportunities based on technologies developed or disclosed at Vanderbilt must submit their proposals through the CTTC.
