Novel Sporicidal Disinfectants Without Scent

PDI, a global leader in infection prevention, is actively seeking novel sporicidal disinfectants effective against Clostridioides difficile, particularly those that are quick-acting and produce little to no scent. This initiative reflects PDI's commitment to enhancing clinical environments with safe and efficient cleaning solutions.

 Approaches of interest:

  • Surface disinfectants with broad-spectrum efficacy, especially against C. difficile.
  • Cost-effective solutions with low toxicity and minimal irritation to skin, eyes, and respiratory systems.
  • Formulations that eliminate the strong odors typical of existing sporicidal disinfectants without compromising efficacy.
  • Sustainable alternatives to current disinfectants.

 Out of scope:

  • Surface disinfectants that produce a strong odor.

Developmental stage of interest:

  • Opportunities at Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 5 and beyond are preferred.

Please note: Faculty and researchers interested in applying for these opportunities based on technologies developed or disclosed at Vanderbilt must submit their proposals through the CTTC.
