Improving delivery and bioavailability of micronutrients in supplements

Seeking innovative solutions to enhance the bioavailability and delivery of essential micronutrients and minerals. This initiative aims to address challenges in nutrition science by developing methods that improve the absorption and efficacy of these nutrients, thereby supporting better health outcomes.

What we're looking for:

Proposals that introduce novel approaches or technologies to enhance the bioavailability and delivery of micronutrients and minerals. Solutions should demonstrate potential for practical application in improving human health through better nutrient absorption.

Must-have requirements are:

  • Clear rationale for how the approach could improve absorption, bioavailability, stability, or targeted release of nutrients
  • Compatible with commonly used VMS ingredients and formats, or a clear path toward such compatibility
  • Reasonable basis to consider the approach safe for ingestiont

Nice-to-have requirements are:

  • Controlled or sustained release functionality demonstrated in vitro or in vivo
  • Preliminary data demonstrating improved nutrient absorption or bioavailability
  • Uses GRAS-listed, food-grade, or supplement-approved materials
