Seeking Novel Chelated Fertilizers

Haifa Group, a world leader in fertilizers, seeks novel, biodegradable, water-soluble chelating compounds for micronutrients. They aim to replace commercially available chelates (e.g., EDTA, EDDHA) while maintaining comparable elemental load and performance in fertigation applications.

 Approaches of interest:

• Chelating compounds for Iron, Copper, Zinc, and Manganese
• Effective across wide soil pH spectrum, especially above pH 7
• Capacity for large-scale production
• Comparable performance to commercial chelates in different soils

 Out of scope:

• Hazardous compounds
• Foliar applications

 The developmental stage of interest: Opportunities from TRL 1 to TRL 6 are within scope, provided there is a proof-of-concept.
