A good opportunity for new ventures in the life sciences industry opened today. The second annual Life Science Tennessee Venture Forum is now accepting applications for the 2013 competition. The business competition is designed to support emerging companies in different sectors of Tennessee's life science industry - pharmaceutical, medical device, research, biofuels, and biologistics to name a few. The winner will receive a cash prize and in-kind startup business services courtesy of partnering firms.
Who's eligible? Companies established in Tennessee with pre-revenue less than $100,000 can apply. Those selected will be partnered with a business mentor who will help company leaders refine their pitches. Five companies will be selected to make final pitches at the Life Science Tennessee Annual Conference and Venture Forum, which will be held Oct. 10 at the Music City Center.
The deadline to submit an application is Monday, Aug. 19. Participants and mentors will be announced Sept. 3.
