This Report was prepared in 1993 by the members (comprising faculty, administrative and ex officio) of the Patent Review Committee in existence at the time. The Report provides background and legislative history on the evolution of the Vanderbilt Policy on Technology and Literary and Artistic Works. Several important principles are outlined in the Report, along with case studies to help explain the application of the Policy in certain circumstances. While the landscape of intellectual property has changed somewhat from 1993 to today, and new case studies may arise as a result of the new landscape, many of the guiding principles endure to this day.
