Vanderbilt University and CTTC join “Southeast Executives-on-Roster” collaboration (SEC XOR)

Vanderbilt University and CTTC, with 13 other Southeastern Conference universities, have just announced the launch of the “Southeast Executives-on-Roster” collaboration (SEC XOR). The purpose of the collaboration is to match experienced entrepreneurs vetted by the SEC universities with the executive needs of companies spinning out of those universities.

Matching appropriate executive talent with the management needs of startup companies is extremely important and fundamental to the success of these companies. The SEC XOR program provides companies with an important tool recruit necessary talent. With appropriate management talent, these startups will be better able to achieve their commercialization objectives, including raising capital.

“SEC XOR is a sophisticated approach to address the very real need of matching expert management talent with technology-based new ventures,” said CTTC’s Alan Bentley. “This program is another tool in our arsenal for enhancing the prospects for success of Vanderbilt-related startup companies, while also creating new opportunities for regional economic benefits.”

The SEC XOR schools have created a software platform to facilitate the matching of talent and needs. All of the universities are continuing to add startup company opportunities and the resumes of entrepreneurial executives to this database. They are also creating a "Guidebook" to govern use and operations.

SEC XOR members include: Auburn University, Louisiana State University, Mississippi State University, Texas A&M University, University of Alabama, University of Arkansas, University of Florida, University of Georgia, University of Kentucky, University of Mississippi, University of Missouri, University of South Carolina, University of Tennessee and Vanderbilt University.
